MUSIC AND PRODUCTIVITY
MUSIC AND PRODUCTIVITY by Remi Dairo.
Good Day!
Today I will be sharing with you how the power of music can change your productivity! Music is not only the food of Love, it is also the food of work...Let's play it on.
Bellow are 3 ways to provoke your productivity through "beautifully organized" sounds (music)
1. Listen to your favorite sounds: When you listen to the music you love, there is a part of the brain that triggers the release of the "Pleasure Chemical" called DOPAMINE. Dapamine
helps to create excitement that is needed to double productivity at work!
Tough tasks are easily accomplished and boring jobs are finished on time when this chemical is released; making productivity a walk over! Let the music play!
2. Select different beats and tempos: Your energy is key to your productivity, therefore when you are choosing music check out their tempo/speed and find the appropriate one that suits your energy level.
In the morning cool music could drive you on, in the afternoon when your energy is going down. You need high tempo music to keep your company!
Researches have shown that high tempo music increases productivity at work! Let the music play!
3. Use Music without words/instrumentals: Many who oppose the idea of music at work say music can be a major distraction!
When you listen to instrumentals, your mind follows the beat while your energy level is increasing.
For strong focus, music with little variety and no lyrics are the best!
Please note, anytime you want to absorb any new information, PRESS PAUSE, assimilate and continue the flow!
Remember, you passion must not be a distraction! Let the music play!
As you go out this week, find the right music that can provoke your energy and double your productivity! Explore a new experience!
Have a productive day!
Thank You,

FOOD AND PRODUCTIVITY
FOOD AND PRODUCTIVITY By REMI DAIRO
REMI DAIRO |
Good Day,
Today I will be exposing to you the foods that can increase your
productivity!
WHO (the World Health Organisation) says "Adequate nutrition can raise your productivity
by 20% on average" When you eat well, you can work well!
3 classes of foods to take your productivity to the next level are:
1. Fruits: When you are hungry instead of going for fast foods go
for FAST FRUITS. Banana has glucose needed for the brain.
Medical experts say the brain works
best with about 25 grams of glucose circulation in the brain, this is about what is found in banana!
Raw carrots will give you a steady level of blood sugar your brain needs to function optimally!
Also Garlic, which contains strong antibacterial and antiviral compounds that help shake off
stress-induced colds and infections to power maximum productivity!
2. Take Coffee: Have you wondered why CEO's take coffee instead of the
normal tea?
Caffeine found in Coffee improves memory and even "protect
against eyelid spasm" which helps those who are staring at computer
all day! It is also rich with antioxidants and amino acid.
Also, try to take DARK CHOCOLATES,
it contains antioxidant property that increases the production of endorphins while enhancing focus and
concentration needed for optimum productivity!
3. Eat Dark Leafy Greens: Eating vegetables can be a best food for you
when its not cooked or half boiled!
These leaves are loaded with vitamins, mineral and phytonutrients!
green vegetables |
more oxygen to the body and brain and this improves cognitive control
very key to personal productivity! Vegetable could go with your rice,
your "Eba" or "Akpu" but make sure you don't over cook it because the
nutrients will disappear into thin air!
AKPU WITH EGUSI SOUP |
As you go out this week, eat well and see your productivity rocking the sky!
Thank you!

LETS DO IT THE BAI FANGLI WAY
By Abiodun Smart Olaoluwa
In 1987, a 74-year old rickshaw puller by the name of Bai Fangli came back to his hometown planning to retire from his backbreaking job. There, he saw children working in the fields, because they were too poor to afford school fees.
Bai returned to Tianjin and went back to work as a rickshaw puller, taking a modest accommodation next to the railway station. He waited for clients 24 hours a day, ate simple food and wore discarded second-hand clothes he found. He gave all of his hard-earned earnings to support children who could not afford education.
In 2001, he drove his rickshaw to Tianjin YaoHua Middle School, to deliver his last installment of money. Nearly 90 years old, he told the students that he couldn't work any more. All of the students and teachers were moved to tears.
In total, Bai had donated a total of 350,000 yuan to help more than 300 poor students continue with their studies. In 2005, Bai passed away leaving behind an inspiring legacy.
If a rickshaw-puller who wore used clothes and had no education can support 300 children to go to school, imagine what you and I can do with the resources we have to bring about positive change in our world!

WHEN YOU ARE PREGNANT WITH A BUSINESS IDEA
WHEN YOU ARE PREGNANT WITH A BUSINESS IDEA.
By Ayo Emakhiomhe
When
that big announcement comes, when your spouse announces that she is pregnant,
you immediately step into action mode (especially if you have long been
expecting this baby) and start making plans-the nursery, the child birth,
labour, child’s sex, clothes, care givers, etc.
This
same scenario runs when your mind announces that it is pregnant with an idea,
it’s just that some of us abort that pregnancy immediately or freeze it for the
future or simply just don’t understand the language our mind uses to speak to
us.
For
those of us that want to swing into next mode when our mind makes the
announcement, let’s consider the following action plans:
- Do a SWOT analysis of yourself
- Do a SWOT analysis of the business idea
- Identify your market, product/service
- Prepare a business plan
- Determine start-up costs and marketing plan
SWOT stands for Strengths Weaknesses
Opportunities and Threats.
-
Doing
a SWOT analysis of yourself entails true self discovery. It means knowing your
true character, likes and dislikes. What are those things/values that make you
tick?
By doing this you would know for
example if you are more of a sales person or a research person. If you are a
sales person then you would be a good distributor or a good product marketer
and if you are more reserved you would be a good consultant/counselor.
Knowing this would help you to
decide which business to follow of to know if you are in the right business/job
presently.
When you have done your personal
SWOT analysis you will know what area of business to indulge yourself in.
I
am stating this because as a person, research has shown that you have a minimum
of five hundred (500) talents, that is, there are five hundred different things
that if you do, you will stand out, but the challenge now is which one do you
go for?
The rule is to pick the one you are
most comfortable with considering the amount and the kind of resources you have
available to you presently.
More formally, you can start as
listed below:
- Identify a need.
- Find out ways to fill the need.
- Find simple ways to fill that need
- Start the wheel of change and run with it.
Identification of a need:
Our economic gurus say that human
wants are insatiable, so are human needs. If we could easily fill this needs
then there would have existed no commerce by now.
For every process and every product
there is always a way of doing it better, for every society there will always
be a need, for every strata of life, there will always be a need to fill.
The secret is to be aware of your
environment, notice the man sleeping by the road side, notice the colour of the
houses around you and how long it takes for them to be changed and how long it
takes for the colours to fade on the walls. This requires practice and
deliberate efforts but it costs barely nothing and is worth the wait, the guy
that passed you today by the staircase or the lift or by the roadside, what was
he wearing or what was he carrying, who made it, how did he get it, what would
you envisage it costs, can there be a less costly or better way of doing it
still at a profit?
What kind of makeup does the lady
next door use? What is it your friends and neighbors complain about on their
jobs, schools, food, gardens, and so on? Have a heart for the next person and
the person would have a prize for you from his pocket. Money comes with value,
if you have no value you will have no money, do not look for money, look for
how to create value, and money like a humming bird to flower will come to you.
When you find a need you can truly
fill, a need you are passionate about attending to, money will come to you.
But to find a need you need to be
able to answer the questions in the paragraphs above and many more, but there
are so many needs out there to fill, go find your own.
Find ways of filling the need;
There is usually no one best way to
solve a problem, there can only be the hard way, the easy way, the long way and
the short way. Careful research will always show you a better way of solving a
problem and filling a need.
Ask questions, get books, talk with
experts and consultants, check the internet, take courses on ways of filling
that need and you are in business.
Find simple ways of meeting that need;
You know its one thing to find a way
of solving a need and it’s another thing to find simple a way of meeting that
need.
Sending a mail could simply be by
doing it on the web through your email or by post, both simple but one simpler
and less costly to both parties- you providing the service and the person
paying for the service.
-
Do a
SWOT analysis of the business idea.
Having found a need and the most
cost effective and simple way of filling that need, you have before you a
business idea. Great, right? But now you have to identify the following to know
if it’s a business you can go into or an idea you can package and sell to
someone else.
i.
How
much do you know about the business
ii.
What
is your knowledge of the industry the business belongs to
iii.
What
do you know about the competition in that industry? Is it a monopolistic
market, is there few competitors in that line of business
iv.
What
are their products and services
v.
Is
it a market that allows free entry and exit or a restricted market
vi.
Who
are the consumers of that product/service
vii.
What
is the government legislation about that kind of market? Is there any signs of
that changing soon
viii. What is the size of that market, how
saturated is it,
ix.
If
there is no market presently, how can you create a market for that
product/service
x.
Who
will be your clients
xi.
What
will legislation be towards this business?
We have introduced you to the business idea generation process(conception to birth) make that move today.
We have introduced you to the business idea generation process(conception to birth) make that move today.
Success is yours!

Small business advice
My small business advice is for you to recognize that your business is the representation of your vision and standards set by you the owners of the business.
The essence of self searching is to have a better understanding and good knowledge of whom you are. By this knowledge, you can stand on your strengths and raise your weaknesses until over time; these observed weaknesses become very minimal.
After a careful self assessment, you also do a very careful and deliberate business assessment.
Getting started with your entrepreneurial venture means that you have a clearly set out business plan.
The business plan should state your business, the industry your business belongs to, what aspect of that business will be your primary focus, what type of clientele are you after, what is the 3-5year cash flow projection, where do you see your business in 5years, 10 years, 20 years, etc.
You should also be able to say what your plans are at getting to this perceived objectives and what resources would you require to achieve this, how do you plan or expect to get these observed requirements.
All these may seem like preparing to climb the highest mountain for the first time, it actually is.
The higher you climb this mountain of starting your company, the higher you will go with your company.
Going back a bit, we need to understand that a problem defined is a problem solved.
The day you give a name to an unidentified challenge, the day your perspective of that challenge changes, you will now see that item in a wider and different but more understanding perspective.
That is why it is important to define your business and industry to know what information to seek and from where, once you have this information, you will now be more focused and deliberate in all you do concerning that challenge.
As simple and unnecessary as this small business advice sounds, it is like the backbone of a successful business venture, it gives you a reference point and a compass to help you stay focused on your success path else deviation occurs and focus is lost and failure starts knocking at the door.
In summary, when venturing into a new business, the following small business advice should be noted before starting out.
• Do a SWOT analysis of yourself
• Do a SWOT analysis of the business idea
• Identify your market, product/service
• Prepare a business plan
• Determine start-up costs and marketing plan

• Determine source of funds
• Consult with professionals - consultants, accountants, bankers, lawyers
• Chose a business type and register
• Start
All the items listed above will be further broken down in later articles to guide you on your path to entrepreneurial/business success.

RAISING CAPITAL FOR YOUR START-UP VENTURE (4)
By Ayo Emakhiomhe.

We continue our discourse on raising finance for your business at start-up.
We will be discussing on using credit lines to support your business.
Please note that all your comments are very welcome.
1. Credit lines
This is very common in retail businesses. This is about establishing a line of credit with your suppliers/bankers.
What you do is agree a period of payment for goods supplied to you with your supplier. It might be for 5 days, 15 days, or even as much as 180days. What it means is that for the defined period, you do not need to pay for goods supplied to you but you can sell the goods and put good use to the money to generate further income before paying for the goods and getting more supplies. This eases the need to pay cash for goods bought and helps you run such aspect of your business without using your cash.
To achieve this, you must have had a good credit history and you must be highly disciplined and focused so as not to misuse your supplier’s funds.
You can also negotiate a temporary overdraft with your banker to assist you with short term funding of your business needs. This allows you access to more cash to run your business activities.
To employ any of the methods outline above, you must have already done your research/feasibility study and prepared a business plan. If you have not, please prepare that first before deciding which method or combination of methods will best suit your business plan and needs. If you do not have a business plan, you are like a blind man that wants to run a marathon with lots of dangerous obstacle courses and your competitors are fully sighted while you have not the slightest idea of the track.
Also, always Endeavor to start small; Even if you have all the capital to hit the high market with your product or service. Always start with just a small test first. Do a Test run of your venture before slowly releasing funds to grow it to size. By doing this you will see any small problems that otherwise would have been hidden by large outlays and your mistakes and losses will be small. Also, backing out if necessary will be at minimal loss/damage.
